Hola bitches!

Si si, the title of this blog fits in nicely with my Spanish themed weekend. Well, really just Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Whoa, ok, first I need to back up because it has been quite some time since I showed this blog some love. And I'll tell you why..it was because I was in a funk. And when I'm feeling funky (the bad kind of funky, not the cool, get your groove on kind), I don't really like communicating with the rest of the world. I get in my funk and I'm all like, screw everyone. Don't be offended, it's not because I don't like you. It's more because I let my horribly negative thinking hinder my ability to rationalize and I get to think that everyone else has it way better than me, and/or is the cause of my silly problems and then I just shut everyone out. Honestly, it's better for everyone because I can get pretty nasty to undeserving people if someone crosses my path. For example, some stupid ass woman that called the office last week got a little taste. I will say, however, that the bitch deserved it because she copped a tude first AND she was being a complete retard. Either way, she is still the customer so I should have been nice to her but I have horrible customer service skills, so that didn't happen. And instead of saying something to me, she walked her stupid ass down to our office and complained to my boss/dad! The nerve! I mean, whatever, it's not like I am going to get fired, but I did get a lovely lecture that I definitely could have done without, thank you very much. I really do have terrible customer service skills though, it's bad. I need to work on them...but I also need a job where I don't have to talk/deal with complete MORONS all day, every day. Seriously, some of the people I have to talk to fell off the turnip truck like, yesterday. That doesn't even really make sense, but I hope you all get what I'm saying. So anyways, she was a sort of innocent victim..just be glad it wasn't you. The rest of the week was retarded as well but things picked up Saturday for real.

Well, first Friday...I went on a date. It was alright. Call if you want details, but lets just say I will not be going out with that person again. I looked super cute though in my new Target skirt, so it wasn't a total loss.

On to Saturday...laid on the beach for three hours..by myself. Which is good and bad. The beach is always good, duh. But laying on it by yourself gets old. I do it a lot these days. Most of my friends live on the other side of town and/or they have other things to do. Also, I have a very limited number of friends here in Charleston, so it's hard to find people to do stuff with sometimes. Sad. Anyways, things got interesting that night when some friends and I went SALSA DANCING!!! Yesssss. One of my favorite things to do EVER. And it was great because the people I went with had never gone before and they were all nervous and were like, is this hard? I don't know think it will be fun. And then we get there and BAM! They are hit in the face with the amazingness that is Salsa dancing and they are forever hooked. I was a sketchmaster, as I always am at the salsa club (or any club really). But I'm not going to lie, I LOVE being sketchy. Sketchy jacky rarely comes out, but man, she is just fabulous and I love when she does. She's hott too! I mean, smoking hott! [The more I drink, the hotter I think I get]. She likes to sneak out of the club and make out with however snuck out with her. In this case, it was a cute Mexican...with a tongue ring...and an eyebrow ring...and a rat tail. AHHHHH-Oh SHIT-did I just say rat tail?!?!! Si, I did. It's true. I know, I know, I have sunk to a new low. But did I mention he had a tongue ring? I think that is a acceptable substitute for a neck tattoo. Don't judge. However, I did make the teensy little mistake of giving sketchy Mexican my phone number. Ooops. Yeah, bad idea...especially since he has called ELEVEN times since then. Haven't answered a one. You'd think he get the picture by now.

So anyways, Sunday I had a double header softball game. That was Spanish related because half my team is Hispanic. And they are all pretty terrible at softball...but they're fun and nice, so whatever. It was hot as HELL though playing outside Sunday afternoon. I was struggling too, after my wild and crazy Saturday night. But, I was still ballin'...I scored two runs and caught a pop fly. Yeah, I'm pretty awesome.

Ok, so posting this now cause I know my readers are getting desperate. You're welcome. More to come soon.

Ciao ciao!

All you gotta is watch me, look what I can do with my feet

Yet another fabulous Chris Brown quote. That is one of my very favorite lines from a song...ever. I had a love/hate relationship with his new song ("Forever") at first...but I have grown to love it. I don't really know what the problem was at first, but who could not love a song that has that line it? I know I couldn't. Another favorite line of mine is from "Psycho Killer" by Talking Heads. But only because when the guy says the line, he says it in this awesome voice that reminds me of my good friend Blakely. And he makes a good point I guess...he says "Say something once, why say it again?" I mean, I don't really agree because sometimes I do nothing but say the same thing over and over. Sometimes it's because I have to tell the same story to lots of different people. Sometimes it's because I think I'll make my point better if I say something multiple times. And a lot of times it's because I think I said something extremely funny, but no one is laughing, so I assume they didn't hear and I say it again until someone laughs...or tells me shut up.

I went to Jacksonville last weekend with another good friend, Katrina. We had quite the fabulous time. I got sunburned...again. Seriously, you would think I would know how to protect myself from harmful UV rays since I GREW up at the beach. Apparently the rays are stronger these days, so I guess I kind of have an excuse. But looking like a lobster is just embarrassing...I look like an amateur. And then I peel and that's not fun either. I don't let my face get burned though...it's usually just my chest...and last weekend my back too, but whatever. Anyways, it was so nice being with Katrina in Jacksonville. Number one, I was going back to my roots...St. Vincent's hospital, represent! Yeah that's right, yours truly comes straight from the streets of Jville. And number two, we actually went OUT and danced and partied. It was a fabulous change from going to bars and just chilling. I am in no mood for chilling these days. I want to go dance and be drunk and sketchy and make out with random people I don't know...possibly ones with neck tattoos. Don't judge...I got a late start with the drunken sketchiness. Most people start freshman year. I didn't really until junior year, so I've got at least another year or so to get it out of my system.

Well, now that I've gotten extremely up close and personal with my reader(s), I should probably shut up. I will say, as a parting note, that JC (my brother) and I are going to coach a machine pitch girls softball team together and I'm pretty pumped about it. JC went to the meeting tonight and he said he was not only the youngest coach there, but he was also the only male softball coach. I thought that was pretty funny. We have 7-8 year old girls (couldn't handle the littlest ones again) and I bet those girls are going to love him...can't wait! Hopefully this team will be better than my last. ::Fingers crossed:: I'll keep you updated, don't worry.

Alright, later dudes.

Be my wifey

So I went to a wedding this weekend. And it was a lot of fun. Ok, I sound awkward. Let me esplain. Every time I go to a wedding I just feel so bizarre. First off, I still have a hard time believing that people my age are getting MARRIED. So crazy to me. Like, they are for REAL in the real world. Not this fake little real world I'm living in, but the real thing. It's insane. I can't even really explain what I mean, so I hope you understand what I mean. It involves bills and buying a house and merging bank accounts and talking about having kids and all kinds of other serious big people stuff. Additionally, just being at a wedding for someone my age makes me feel weird too. Like I don't really belong or something. I think part of it is because the idea of me getting married is SO far off for me in my fake world. Don't get me wrong, I am going to have one kick-ass wedding (Kami knows this), but it is not going to be until I'm like 35. So, faithful readers, you better keep in touch with me to insure an invite.

OH my, I've been rambling. This is not about me. This is about KATIE BROWN-who got MARRIED. And now she's Katie Head! Whoa buddy. And it was such a lovely wedding too. She looked so pretty! I'm not going to lie, her wedding was so simple, but so fabulous at the same time. It was fabulous because it was so perfectly Katie and Caleb. I think my favorite was that those two goobers just wandered into their own reception and got into the buffet line without being announced or anything. I guess they were just hungry. But here's a picture so everyone can see how cute they are:
Doesn't she just look so grown up?! Complete insanity.

Love you KB turtle :)

1, 2, 3, Go Grassroots!

Dear reader(s), please forgive me and my slackness as of late. Although I posted on the last blog that I was feeling fine and dandy post retrieval, that did not turn out to be the case in the days following. In fact, I have been feeling pretty darn shitty. But no worries, I feel much better today. No more feeling super bloated and wincing when I stand up or sit down. Don't get me wrong, it was totally worth and it really wasn't that bad, it was just uncomfortable. And, I'm a big whiner...so yeah, I'm better, no big deal.

Anyways, we had our last soccer game yesterday....and we tied! YAY! Seriously, Grassroots definitely saved the best for last. A tie is HUGE when you've done nothing but lost by at least 3 or 4 every game. I was pretty proud of the team. Given my fragile state, I let Allison coach on the field while I managed the sidelines. That, believe it or not is actually harder than coaching on the field. Those kids are squirming all over the place and whining about one thing or another. Someone always has to go to the bathroom, or is sweating, or is thirsty, or wants to go in or play goalie. There is just no pleasing them! It's entertaining though. The craziest things come out of their mouths. They were all psyched up about getting trophies and kept asking about them. I told them they only got trophies if they didn't whine. There was still some whining, but I feel like it was minimized a tiny bit. So anyways, after the big TIE, we had a cookout, which turned out to be pretty fun. I got this awesome cake from publix:

I told all the parents I made it myself...and they totally bought it! Yeah right, like I have the time OR the talent to do something like that. Come on people. The parents also kept asking me if I was going to coach next year. Hmmm, something to think about. I actually had a lot of fun and it was definitely an entertaining experience. However, I think if I did, I might coach kids that are a couple years older. Just because they might be a little more responsive to actual coaching. We'll see. Anyways, then we handed out trophies and it was the highlight of their little lives, I'm sure.
I wish it were a closer and better picture so you could see everyone's face and just how funny they all are. More pics on facebook, check it.
k, well nothing else exciting happened at the party...other than someone leaving their shoes. Now I have to track down someone with a missing pair of soccer cleats. Seriously, now do you just wander off with no shoes on? I feel like that is a pretty major part of your ensemble. But that's just me.

Off to softball. Later dudes.

30 April 2008

Ah, Infertility

Yay! The eggs came out today! And it actually went much, much better than I thought it was going to. I was really afraid I was going to be super sore and nauseous, but I am feeling pretty good. My dad is the one that ended up taking me to the place...that was a little awkward. Only because the nurse and everyone was talking about girl stuff with him right there. Also, when I woke up from the anesthesia, I felt like I was super drunk and kept saying retarded things. I mean, I say stupid things anyway, but I just couldn't make myself stop. And in all honesty, I thought it was pretty funny, but the neither the nurse or my dad looked particularly amused. So I kinda wish I had someone more fun there. But oh well. Either way, I now am $3500 richer and seriously, that was the easiest $3500 I have ever made. It's almost as much money that I made at the ranch, and I had to spend four months in hell for that! The only thing that stinks now is that I can't drive for the rest of the day and all I really want to do is go to the beach and/or go shopping. I need a chauffeur. Too bad my sister is not all that nice, she'd be perfect.

Anywho, I'm going back to my heating pad now. But I feel fine...just a tad bit crampy, no worries people.

Later dudes.

24 April 2008

You're Welcome

I'm really tired and will be returning to this post to add more later, promise. But for now, my dear loyal readers, I wanted to share with you this little jobby I found on the Go Fug Yourself website:

Fuggifer Fugpez Fugoa Fugdd almost-Fugfleck Fugthony

It is perhaps my most favorite of all the pictures. First off, I love that they do J. Lo's section in her voice. So fabulous. And also, that outfit? Seriously? Celebrities kill me. They are the biggest waste of space and money. I mean, someone got paid to make that shit and then I'm sure J. Lo had to pay big bucks to wear it. Those shoes make me hurt. And I won't even discuss the rest of the outfit. She looks like a complete idiot. As do most celebs. However, I guess it's not a total waste because without their idiot selves, how would I entertain myself at work?

I also found this website: Stuff God Hates. It has potential to be funny...but I think it's trying a little too hard.

Also, the egg retrieval is going to be Sunday (fingers crossed)! As long as my follicles cooperate, we should be all systems go. Get excited!

More later bitches. Ciaooo

White Hot

This particular blog was created pretty much only because I want to discuss the crazy lady at my gym. She actually kind of scares me a little. bit. First off, she's there ALL the time. I've been to the gym at really random times before and sure enough, there she is. 9:00 on Monday night, 11:00 Saturday morning, 3:00 Sunday afternoon, she's there. She is either on the elliptical machine or the stationary bike. And she is super skinny already, so she really doesn't need to be working out in the first place (that is what I think about all skinny people-they need to stop working out and get fat like me). But here is the really crazy part-she is always exercising in spandex, a sweatshirt and with like, 8 towels piled on top of her head. I really think she has problems. She looks like a wrestler trying to sweat off extra pounds before a match. Only she's like, 60 and clearly not a wrestler. I think she needs help. I've thought about saying something to the people that work there, but it's like two high school boys, so I don't think they would really care. It also makes me sad that I have to go to the gym alone and don't have anyone there to laugh at her with me. I look around at the other people there sometimes, but no one else seems to notice.

Soccer game monday. We scored. So we're improving. The other team scored three times as many goals, but we're going to focus on the two that we scored. The other team had a beast too, so it was a little unfair. I think out of the eight goals they scored, this one girl scored six of them. We had some crying, as always, but it was a little more justified this time...she got hit in the face with the ball. So I'm hoping Saturday is going to be our big comeback. It's going to be great.

Since I've been reading the "Stuff White People Like," I have been very aware of just how white I am. I thought maybe I would have some credibility since I dated a black person, but I think even if did, it's been lost by now. I mean, first off, the person was a complete loser, secondly, it's been awhile since that, and lastly (and also my personal favorite), I got replaced because I was in fact, not black. So anyways, it was cracking me up yesterday because I was so extremely white. First I went to the gym and listened to white people music on my ipod. After that, I went home, grabbed my reusuable grocery bag and walked myself to the farmer's market. Then I walked back home, planted some flowers and made myself a lovely white person dinner. All in all, a fabulously white afternoon.

Holy crap, new favorite website- Go Fug Yourself. Just discovered it at work and it is freaking hysterical. I will no longer be looking for a job, I'll be reading this website instead. And will be jealous and wishing it were my job to judge stupid ass, fugly celebrities.

Hm, so this deviated a little from just the crazy lady, but whatever.

Oh What a Miracle Am I

So this blog is going to be really random and retarded because I don't have anything really to write about. I'm at work and it's freezing in the office. But I guess that's not really anything new, so whatever. But just wanted to warn people (all my adoring fans that read this) that extreme randomness is coming your way.

First off, Sarah rocks my face off for taking the time to actually research what Chris Brown is talking about. It all makes sense now. That Chris Brown...not only is he super fine, but he is also so clever with his witty analogies. I'd be his Jordans EVERY day, you know what I'm saying? Holla Chris.

My mom was telling me the other day about how she sings songs to her first grade class and I started singing some of the million camp songs I have learned over the years and I wanted to share one of personal favorites (I have four). It's called "Oh, What a Miracle" and I don't know the tune to tell you, but if you're ever around me, I'll sing it for you. Here goes:

[chorus..there are movements involved as well]
Oh, what a miracle,
Oh, what a miracle
Every little part of me
I'm so special, so very special
Ain't nobody quite like me!

[then you make up a few verses]
I've gotta ____[nose]___ (point to your nose)
I've gotta nose
Watch me ______[pick it]____ (pick your nose)
Watch me pick it
OH, what a miracle am I!

[more verses, then the chorus again]

So you can make up all kinds of good stuff for the verses, like, I've got a appendix...watch it do nothing...I've got eyes, watch me watch you. Get creative...it's fun.
My other favorites are This Little Light of Mine, Be a Great Boy/Girl, and the Y song. Oh, and Camp Greenville High. So I guess I have five. Oh man, I am such a nerd.

To further prove what a nerd I am, I am now going to talk about facebook and how it is getting completely out of control. Ok, first off, it needs to back up out of my business and quit telling me who I should be friends with. If I wanted to be friends with those people, I probably already would be. Especially with a school like PC...if I'm not already their friend and they are friends with lots of my friends..it's probably because I don't really like them. So back off facebook. I also don't need facebook making me feel like a loser with the "Wish you weren't lonely?" ad. Of course I wish that, but I don't need fb rubbing it my face. And the super hot guy that is pictured on the ad probably isn't interested in me. And even if he was, he probably lives really far away and/or has already been picked up by some other facebook loser that actually clicks on those ads. I also don't want to look at some fatty's muffin tops while I'm facebook stalking. They're distracting, as well as disgusting. And really, I feel sorry for the poor girl who's nasty back fat is featured on facebook for millions of people to see. That's just embarrassing. And lastly, I don't care what kind of pin-up girl, dog, vampire or princess I would be. That seriously has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. And I will say that even though I refuse to add the "top friends" feature to my profile...it does make me a little bit sad when I'm not in someones top friends.

Another crazy work story-a young guy came in (my age) with his mother and I guess grandmother but couldn't pee at first. So he's drinking water in the lobby and the mom looks at me and is like, well if he can't go, you can just take mine can't you? Um, what?! No, crazy lady, I cannot substitute your pee for your sons. It doesn't work like that. I swear, some people are just beyond ridiculous.

In other news, in every game I've played in this week (cause I'm ballin'...oh yeah, and speaking of ballin, there is a caseworker for DSS who's last name is Baller and I think that is so awesome and am thinking of asking him to marry me so that can be my last name too), my team has gotten murdered. It's actually quite sad. We did alright in kickball and in softball we were pretty rag tag, but we at least scored. However, in soccer on Saturday..we were struggling big time. I don't think my team even got down to the other end of the field. I think it was like 11-0. They were all crazy too...I don't know if it was because it was Saturday or what (maybe they were all excited about new Jordans?) but I think everyone on the team cried at least once. Hopefully we can pull ourselves together tonight. There's no crying in soccer!

Ok, this is getting out of control. So I'll stop.

Ciao!

Burning questions

Here's what I want to know: why do middle aged men think wearing push-up socks with shorts is acceptable? At what point in a man's life do they make the change from ankle socks to push-up socks? Or, are there two different kinds of men, those who wear ankle socks and those who wear push-up socks? If that's the way it is, then I definitely need an ankle sock wearing kind of guy. This burning question came about after I went to my first softball "practice" on Sunday. I don't know if it counted as a real practice since it was me, five middle aged men, a muddy, unusable field and one extremely heavy wooden bat. I think you need a little more than that to constitute a real practice. I could be wrong though. I hope the team works out though, because I really want to play softball. I was hoping to meet some cute guys that are my age, but it's looking like everyone is going to be at least 15 years older. Maybe they can get me a job or something...or maybe they have kids. We'll see.

So I did the Cooper River Bridge Run on Saturday. And by run, I mean I walked it. And even though it took me an hour and a half, I still beat about 20,000 people. So yeah, I'm pretty awesome. Not quite as awesome as the Kenyans that won the whole thing. They were finished, showered and receiving medals before the last people had even crossed the finish line. Isn't that insane?! That nonsense just blows my mind. And they fact that they ran 6.2 miles (nearly 2 of them uphill) in 28 minutes. TWENTY-EIGHT MINUTES. Complete insanity. I can't even imagine being able to do such a thing. And just in case I ever think that I could ever be capable of doing such a thing, I'll hopefully remember how sore I was in the days after walking 6.2 miles. It's really quite sad and I am working on forcing myself to change that. I'm counting softball practice as a step in the right direction.

The housewarming party was fun. Nothing too crazy happened. I apparently made some bomb ass hunch punch. I don't actually know, since I stuck to wine all night. Don't really have anything else to say..what happens on Fairmont, stays on Fairmont. Ok, I'm just being dramatic...it's just that nothing much really happened.

So here's what else I really want to know: what is Chris Brown talking about when he says "You're like Jordans on Saturday?!?!??!" I know I've asked this before, but I would really like to know. I would also like to know why a company would send me an email with the subject line, "Open Position at Blackbaud," make me all excited thinking there's an open position they'd like me to fill and then have the actual email tell me they decided to go with someone more qualified. That is just asshole right there. Someone at Blackbaud is mean.

That's all I got for now. No more questions your honor.

Ballin'

Literally. But I'll get to that later.

oooooh-GOOD weekend! (I started writing this post on Monday and am just now finishing it...oops) 100% fabulous. Wait, maybe 90%...car not starting was less than fabulous. But, Ralph (the car) is better than ever now, so all is well. So, let's talk bachelorette party. Whoa, crazy times. I'd never been to one before, so I didn't really know what to expect, but it turned out to be really fun. Nellifers came down and we partied it up with Katie and her friends at Pantheon. Yes, that's right. This would be my second visit to the gay club in the last two months. Both times were fun, so I'm not ashamed. Other than the penis party favors, my favorite part of the evening would have to be when a girl danced up to me, asked if I was straight and then danced off when I told her yes. I was a little sad to see her go, I'm not gonna lie. JK..she wasn't that hot.

On to Saturday. Things didn't look that promising after it turned freezing and Ralph wouldn't start..but thanks to indoor heating and Ray letting me borrow his car, things picked up. Not only did I get to leave, but I also did it with class, red BMW convertible style. Um, it's a 94 so don't get too jealous...and it was raining and freezing, so I couldn't enjoy the convertible part. Anyways, I went to Columbia and met up with some of my absolute favorite people. Had some fabulous pizza and ice cream with the fabulous Kelly and Sarah. Kelly is off on her Asian adventure soon! I'm excited for her, but also super jealous and sad that I won't get to see her for a long time. And Sarah rocks my face off. I mean, not only is she one of the only people that read this (hey Sarah!) but she's also just all around awesome. And she needs to come visit asap. Anyways, then I met up with Katrina and Jeannie, my wonderful college roomies and we had fun, even though we hung out with slightly awkward boys at a slightly boring bar. I loved hanging out with them though. And I MISS them..and everyone! I hate being out of college and having all my best buds spread out all over the world. :( But I need to get over that...so onto my real life....

We won our first soccer game! Gooooo Grassroots! Well, kind of.... it was raining Monday afternoon, so only three kids showed up. The team we were playing (white team) had a full roster, so we combined with another team (Harris Teeter), who also only had three kids, and played against the white team. Two kids on the other team were a-mazing! Probably better than me. One scored in the first five seconds of the game. So yeah, we won. I am not looking forward to the day we play Harris Teeter though. Maybe it'll be raining again. Their coach said some of the kids had been playing together for three years...since they were three! That's crazy!

Ok, so the ballin part. I went to my kickball meeting and signed up for a softball team! I am a sports coaching/playing fool! Well, I don't know if the softball team is for real yet..but I really hope so because I actually wanted to play softball instead of kickball, but didn't have anyone to play with. But some guys came up to us a the kickoff meeting last night and said they needed more girls for their team, so I offered. The only thing holding me back is the fee, but since they are desperate, I might be able to strike a deal and get some of it paid for. ::fingers crossed::

So, yeah, I'm pretty awesome. The egg donation thing started as well, so I have to give myself injections ever day. It's really not that bad. Needles don't bother me and it doesn't hurt, so I'm doing fine. I just have to remember to do it every day..which might be difficult on the weekends since I have to do it in the morning. Maybe the money will go towards a new car...we'll see. That's not really what I want to spend it on, but I don't know how much longer Ralph is going to make it. Maybe if I wash him more often he'll start behaving. Also, I learned today that one of my roommates not only stole my dental floss, but also broke it. He thought it was his...I guess he figured since he is so awesome and in dental school, he is the only one that flosses. Nay nay friend, I also care about my teeth. Especially after my four cavity visit to the dentist in December. How embarassing is that?

That's all folks. Ciao!

27 March 2008

Hi, my name is jacquelyn and I'm addicted to q-tips

For real yall, I am and it's so awful. I already got swimmer's ear once from using them too often or sticking it to far in or something, so you think I would learn. Swimmer's ear was so bad too! It was some of the worst pain and most annoying thing I've ever been through. I even had to take hydrocodon (sp?) and that was some intense nonsense. So anyways, you'd think that would be enough for me to stop, but I can't! It's so bad! I don't buy q-tips anymore, but my roommates have them in the bathroom and I steal them! Seriously, I feel like a drug addict or something. I have some in a little travel pack I keep in my overnight bag thingamabob and I was like, digging through my drawers the other day the looking for one. I need help. I guess I can kind of relate to the drug addicts I see all the time though. Haha, I wonder what they would say if I were like, yeah, I know what you're going through...I deal with a pretty intense q-tip addiction myself. Everyday is a battle. Oh man, as fabulous as I think that is, I don't think real drug addicts would find that very amusing. But anyways, I really have a problem and I need some help. I just feel like my ears are dirty all the time and only a q-tip can save them. Sometimes I wish I could like, physically remove my ear, scrape it out and then re-attach it. Gah, I am such a freak! I don't know what to do. And if I get swimmer's ear again, first off, I'll cry and secondly, I'll be SOL because I don't have health insurance so I couldn't go to the doctor to get the medicine I need!

I have all sorts of other bad habits too. Like eating...I can' t stop that either! I mean, obviously, I have to eat but I just can't make myself eat healthy. I try sometimes and sometimes I do really well, but mosly I just love good food and good food is not always healthy for you. And on top of that, I can't seem to make myself get to the gym either. I am going to turn into a big fat cow with swimmer's ear and I am going to be feeling real sorry for myself. But it'll be my fault completely! Jeez, I need to pull myself together asap.

Hm, other than that, nothing to exciting going on. Very few crazies this week. Plus, after last week's crazy blowout, I don't think (and certainly hope) nothing can top that. The ULTIMATE crazy came in last week and was going on about all kinds of things. First off, she kept insisting she didn't smoke cigarrettes, so she didn't do drugs. Ok, tobacco is a drug but it's not illegal so we DON'T test for it. Then she was asking what I would do if Chelsea Clinton or Jennifer Lopez came in here to get drug tested. WHAT?! I really was like, get out of here crazy lady. When I finally got her to stop asking questions and got her out the door, so said something about not being like Gloria Estafan. I really don't know what that was in reference to, but by then I was straight up laughing in her face. Oh man, I only wish someone normal had been here to enjoy her with me.

Ciao!

Get your back up off the wall

Ohhhhhh Man, I just had the most fabulous weekend. Seriously, it was so great. And I am freaking WORN out from it. I actually think I might have chronic fatigue or something because I am so damn tired all the damn time. It kind of pisses me off because I get enough sleep and it's not like I'm doing anything extremely tiring. I hate feeling tired though because it just makes me not want to do anything..ever. It also makes me be a horrible writer and write sub-par blogs. I need to do some research and figure this thing out. I can't go to the doctor because I don't have health insurance, so I'm going to need some natural medicine or something.

Ok, so back to my great weekend. I was feeling better Friday afternoon and I got off work early, so I headed up to the mountain house for mini camp reunion. I didn't know exactly where I was going...I mean, I had directions but no one knew the actual address, so I was a little nervous. But I made it ok and I am so so glad I decided to go. My camp friends are just the craziest, most random and ridiculous people ever and I think they are beyond wonderful. And when we get together we have ridiculously fabulous time. And I can't even explain them to normal people because together, we are not normal. In our real lives, we do a pretty good job of acting normal, but when we get together, all that goes out the window. I really think camp is the absolute greatest thing in the whole world (well that, and studying abroad), and wish everyone got a chance to experience it like I did. Really, it's so amazing. Beyond amazing. There isn't even a word for it. And I think there are "camp people" and then everyone else who just doesn't get it and I think camp people are just a completely different breed. That's why I try to keep my real life friends separate from camp friends because I don't want my real life friends to find out what a weirdo I am. They think they already know, but they really have no idea. Anyways, we get up there Friday night, there's about 15 of us I guess and I get super drunk so I don't really remember what all went down. I do remember there was lots of laughing, running around like a fool, and attempts to take selfies going on. Oh and dancing, of course--one of the best parts about camp-dance parties. There were also lots of people smoking and I think smoking is the grossest thing ever, so I remember trying to hide people's cigarettes...but people get very angry when you do that, so I had to stop. Then I got really tired, so I took a power nap (could have been longer, I don't know), got up, ate a pp&j, had some more good times and then officially went to bed. I was pretty pleased with myself, because for some reason, every time we went to this girl's mountain house the summer we all worked at camp ('06), I would either cry or throw-up..sometimes both. I don't know what was going on, I think I was depressed from coming back from Italy...that explains the crying. And maybe the throwing up came from me drinking stupid American alcohol and not fabulous Italian wine. Yeah, that's it.

So anyways, Saturday was gorgeous and we just hung out...went into Asheville for some lunch and then hung out some more. Lots of people left, so there were only about 7 left but it was still a lot of fun. I remember it all because I didn't drink as much, but that was not the case for the other 6. So I had a good time laughing at their stupidness. I also danced some more and did some dishes. It was great.

Sunday we all left (had to hug it out first), and I went to my grandparents in Columbia for Easter dinner. Yes, I am a heathen and didn't go to Easter mass. I was already in that category though because I didn't go for Christmas mass either. I know, I'm going straight to hell! It's bad. Anyways, dinner was great. Good food as always and we all actually got along and had a good time. Kind of rare in my fam. And there was a huge bucket of jelly belly jellybeans and you know that always makes for a good time.

So tomorrow it's back to work. Boooo. But I'm excited about the next couple of weekends...and the week goes by faster when you have something to look forward to.

Listen to the Music

I am currently listening to Pandora at work, and that song was on, hence the title. No other special meaning.

Sometimes I dread blogging because it makes me fully realize how incredibly lame my life is. Like today. Nothing new or exciting to report. I had soccer practice Monday, that was entertaining, as always. We had a scrimmage again and "tied." That's probably for the best though. Parents don't like it when their kids lose. Tuesday I went to the USC-CofC baseball game. I like watching sports, but it was a little chilly for my taste. And the crowd there was pretty lame. They were playing some good music and everything, but everyone was just kind of sitting there. My mom and I were rocking out, but we were pretty much the only ones. Sad times for everyone else. I still think it's so funny that Mike and Reese are such big deals on the team and everyone knows who they are. I grew up next to Reese, and Mike basically lived over there, so I knew him as well. Our families even used to go on vacaction together. Those were some good times, summers at Lake Joccassee. We would squeeze 15 people into an 8 person cabin, which meant some of the kids "camped out" outside. Anyways, enough reminscing. I just think it's great that they're all famous and cool now and I get to make boys jealous by being like, oh yeah, I used to camp out with those two! Maybe they'll go pro one day and I can bust out some old pictures and make some money, haha. Just kidding.

Anyways, yesterday I was feeling a little under the weather. I felt like I was going to die all day at work, so I just went home and went to sleep. Me feeling bad is also the reason why this blog is so increidbly sad today. So, I'm just going to stop. I can't deal with this horrible writing anymore. Today, as long as I feel ok, I'm heading up to the mountains for a camp reunion and then to Columbia for Easter. Hopefully when I get home, I'll be well and will have re-learned how to write properly.

Beware the Ides of March

...not really, but I thought it was appropriate, even though Caesar was killed yesterday.

Anyways, the week was somewhat uneventful. Had some more crazies come in, but that really isn't anything new. I am, however, getting REALLY tired of the stupid and rude people that come and call in the office. I am more tolerant of stupid, because stupid is as stupid does really (whatever that means. Ms. Gump, could you explain please?) but rude, rude is just unacceptable. There is just no call for it. Like I've stated before, I am not the reason why people have to come in and get a drug test. I am merely the facilitator. I am not in the wrong and should not be cussed at, thank you very much.

Gosh, I'm tired. But I know my adoring public can't live another day without a recent post, so I'll push through. I had quite the weekend, so that's why I'm so tired. Friday night I babysat for the BEST kids. Seriously, it was the easiest thing I've ever done for fifty bucks. It was a little boy from my soccer team and his sister. The kids were fabulous and cute and we watched 101 Dalmatians, an excellent choice. They only made it halfway through the movie (how awesome is it that kids go to bed at 8:00), but I finished it on my own. I love me some Disney movies, I'm not ashamed. I have all the videos (where they are, I have no clue) and want all the DVDs, but they are so dang expensive! Each one is like, $30! I don't have that kind of dough to be spending on movies! So, yeah, keep that in mind for future gift purchases. So after dalmatians, I watched Robin Hood because it has amazing music and then Mary Poppins because it's one of my all time faves, also with great music. So yeah, my Friday night involved three Disney movies...a good night if you ask me.

Saturday I had 9:00 practice. Why it couldn't be at 10, I don't know, but I managed to get up and put on a smile. It was a good practice though...we even scrimmaged another team. The other coaches were pretty hardcore though, it was cracking me up. His team was already set up and I was trying to get mine together and he goes, "you might want to think about getting your defense on the field." I was like, uh thanks, I'll get right on that. Defense?! Are you joking me? We only play five kids at a time, and one is the goalie! There's no such thing as defense! It's pretty much every man for himself...there are no positions, no passing, no assists...it's I want to score a goal and I'll steal the ball from my own teammate if I have to. But the scrimmage was good (we lost, sadly) and I realized there are a lot of things my team needs to go over before the season really starts. Like how to shake hands. They didn't understand the concept of walking down the line to shake everyone's hand. I don't know why they couldn't, but they all just stood there.

After practice, I did some random stuff, then met Allison downtown to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I'm Irish, so of course I had to get completely wasted. At 4 in the afternoon. That's right. I had to call it a night at 8:00. Well, I was actually just going to go home and take a short nap and then head out for round two, but because of the crazy weather going on, round two was canceled. It was probably for the best. By 9:30 I had already managed to make a fool out of myself, spill water all over my room and do some detrimental drunk dialing. Which is weird, because I rarely drunk dial, but I guess I was feeling festive. I managed to control myself and didn't call a big no-no, so I guess it wasn't all bad. I don't really drink that often anymore either, so maybe that had something to do with it. Had to get all the stupid out. So yeah, I went to bed at 9:30. Woke up at 2:30 am, was hungover, ate some crackers, went back to sleep and woke up this morning just fine. Then my roommate conned me into going to church with him. It wasn't all bad, but church just really isn't my thing (I know, I'm a heathen) so I don't think I'll be going back. Much to the sadness of him and the welcome lady that tried to give me lunch and a praise CD. I talked my way out of both, but it was kind of a challenge. I babysat again today and the kids weren't as good. The little girl was actually kind of a bitch. Well, she was fine until she fell down and then she got mean! Her brother ran into her and she fell over but she took it all out on me! She was like, I hate you, we are not friends! I was like, what the hell!?! I didn't say that but she did accuse me of saying bad words and was going to tell her mom. I was like, um well you'd be lying. Then I realized I was arguing with a four year old and made myself shut up. We made up later, but she was pretty hateful for a while.

Ok, adoring public, I really must get to bed now. I got a little burst of energy while listening to my new obsession, "Cupid's Shuffle." But it is fading fast. I know that song is like a year old, but I just recently discovered it and think it's pretty awesome. I'll try to update soon. Read old posts if you need a fix. Ciao ciao. Have a Happy St. Patricks!

Party Time, EGGxcellent

OH MAN-today was complete craziness. I have GREAT news..but I'm going to go in order, so you'll have to wait for it.

First off, work was insane! Mondays, for some reason are always completely retarded. It's always crazy busy and all the idiots decide to call and ask stupid questions and I get pissed. And then the rest of the week, it's slow as molasses and I get annoyed because I just don't understand why Monday hogs all the work and it can't be spread out through the rest of the week. So anyways, it started pretty much the second I got there and just got ridiculous the rest of the day. I was really annoyed though because my dad had to go to an on-site collection as well as to court for most of the day, so I was there by myself with all the crazies for most of the day. One guy made things a little better though. I gave him his cup to pee in and I walk back into the hall right as he is walking out and I catch him putting water from the sink in his specimen! I mean, for real? I just died laughing. And the guy was like, oh, uh, I didn't think I would have enough. Oh yeah, good call, so you add some water to your pee, just to beef it up a little bit. Haha, are you kidding me! Basically, he just said, I'm POSITIVE! Some people! Then, a guy in a wheelchair came in and that was horribly awkward. And I know that sounds horrible, but I've never had someone in a wheelchair come in and we really just aren't equipped for that, so it was just strange. But we figured it out. I had a bunch of people copping 'tudes today as well. That nonsense just pisses me off! People are all mad because they have to get their hair cut or have to take time out of their day to come take a test. Excuse me, but I am NOT the reason you are there, NOR am I the reason your test came out positive! People are always cussing at me and I just think that is so rude. I'm starting to become a hardass though. I'm not taking crap anymore. It's bad, but I'm also becoming somewhat of a heartless bitch. I just don't feel sorry for people anymore! They give me all kinds of stories about how they don't do drugs or whatever, but I don't really believe anyone anymore.

Ok, so after my crazy day at work I went to an even crazier soccer practice. My brother went as a special guest coach since he's home on spring break, and I thought those kids were going to be all about him since he plays soccer in college, but they really just weren't into him. Sad times for him...and me, because I was hoping they would listen to him because they def don't listen to me. I mean, it was still fun, but I was so frazzled from work, it was hard to be patient with them. I don't understand why they don't get the concept of NO HANDS. It's really not that hard. This is also good birth control though...further proof I really don't want kids.

And that leads me to my next topic...I don't want kids, but someone wants mine! I got matched today! Long story short, I am donating my eggs to some lovely couple so they can have children of their own. And, I get paid! People think I'm crazy, but I think people that think that are crazy. I mean, why not? Yeah, it's kind of weird that theres going to be half of my genes running around somewhere, but I really think that they world is only going to benefit from this situation. And, I'm never going to know the kid and they are never going to me, so it's a win-win. PS-that was the great news...in case you were confused.

There's more to be said, but I'm tired and my face itches. So I'm calling it a night. More later perhaps. Ciao ciao!

Don't tell the boss

This is what I read on my free time at work:

http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/

It is freaking hysterical. It also makes me feel guilty/stupid for being white and liking/doing such white things. But oh well, not much I can do about it. And I already felt stupid for being white, but for other reasons (mainly because I don't like rap music). What can you do?

Nothing else interesting going on. I go to bed early now and it's fabulous/pathetic. Sorry for all the slashes.

Enjoy! Ciaoooo

No hands, no hands!

So I started coaching my soccer team yesterday and let me just tell you, it was awesome. I was pretty nervous about meeting all the parents and all that, but everyone seemed pretty nice. There was one lady who was a little on the crazy side, but I think it's going to be ok. And of course all the parents stood around and watched me the whole time, so that was a little scary too, but no one said anything so whatever. And I figure, they didn't sign up to coach, so they can't really say much to me. So I have 10 (we got a player added) 5 and 6 year olds, 3 of which are triplets. Those are some crazy kids...there are two girls and a boy and the boy decided yesterday he didn't want to play! Then he saw the jerseys at the end and thought maybe he could play for 5 minutes. I told him he had to play with us the whole time or he wasn't getting a jersey...we shook on it, so I think we struck a deal. Anyways, all the kids were pretty excited and listened to me. The biggest problem was getting them not to pick up the ball with their hands. Kind of a big deal in soccer, but they figure if they can't the ball to go where they with their feet, they'll just pick it up and move it to where it needs to go. Nay nay, that is not how soccer works my young friends. We will figure it out soon enough...surely after me yelling "no hands, no hands!" a few hundred times per practice they will start to catch on. We'll see. I also have a wanderer. He's pretty awesome and likes to throw out random and incoherent bits of information while I'm explaining something. Yesterday he told me, "my bridge is lighting up," referring to the big Cooper River bridge that was behind us. I had no idea it was his...I thought it was Arthur Ravenels, but I was wrong...it's his. Another favorite past time is wandering off the field to sit in the bleachers when he wants a snack or just feels like taking a break. He also has a pretty sweet bowl cut. Anyways, all the kids are great and I am super excited about the rest of the season. I need some help with practice, 30 minutes is kind of long time when I can only get them to focus for about 5 minutes at a time. They are all so dang cute though! And funny, they just run around like crazy people and it is quite entertaining.

Also, I moved into my new house last weekend! It was quick and painless and right now I am just trying to get my room together and decorate. I have so much stuff and so little space, it's kind of a problem. I am looking for a desk and some book shelves, but don't know exactly what I want. I'm doing ok though...I just want to get my stuff out of boxes and into some furniture, ya heard? I love love LOVE living on my own though. Last night I came home and made myself dinner and sat at my table and felt like such a big girl! It was awesome. Dinner was slightly sub par, but I'm going to become a master chef, just you wait. Right now it's dinner on a budget. Also, it's make-dinner-as-fast-as-possible dinner because I'm always STARVING when I get home. That needs to change too. I'm thinking an afternoon snack would help.

And lastly, today I got asked out by someone at work. That was awkward.

A Quickie

I am already way past my bed time because I got distracted with 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' on TV with my mom and then a tape measure. But, I really just want to know something. First off, I love me some Chris Brown. I would totally run away with him. And I really like his new song "With You." But what I really want to know is, what does he mean when he says "you're like jordans on saturday." Please someone tell me. Chris, if you're reading, please tell me. I'm sure I can fulfill that role for you. Let's make this happen...I'll make that song come true. Wink.

Buonanotte!
(For Chris' eyes only: Sei troppo sexy; non posso piu. Baciami, adesso. Andate al cinematografo con me?)

27 February 2008

You step up, I'll step up TWO

Oh hell yes, that's right, I went and saw Step Up 2 the streets tonight. And it. was. AWESOME. I loved it. Unfortunately, I went with someone that was pretty unenthusiastic (my lame sister) and it brought it down a little, but I still had a fabulous time. It has a pretty sweet soundtrack, let me just tell you. I was jamming out in my seat. I only wish there had been more people there to share the joy with. It was only me and Liz, two German girls and one lonely guy that was there by himself. I wish I had talked to him because not only was he dancing but for real, what kind of person goes and sees Step Up 2 by themselves?! A person I need to know, that's who. Oh, and speaking of guys the ticket guy was probably the biggest douche bag I've ever met in life. And I've met some douchey people. He was a student ID nazi! It was ridiculous. He wouldn't even give my sister the student discount and she's in his class at school! I mean, come on, it's not like they work on commission! So anyways, the whole time I was enjoying the street dancing goodness, I was thinking to myself, self, does this kind of thing really happen? And by thing, I mean those awesome like, step offs or whatever. The throw downs I guess. And, if they do really happen, where and when do they happen and how do I get into one? Also, what would I wear to such a thing? These are questions I would really like to know the answer to, so if anyone knows, holla at your girl. Which brings me to my next point, does anyone actually read this? Just give me a little shout if you do. It doesn't matter all that much honestly though, because it's mainly for my entertainment.

So anyways, I am watching Rob and Big right now and it is some funny shit. MTV has really gone down the drain the last couple of years, but this show is awesome. Most MTV shows, like My Super Sweet 16 or The Hills or pretty much everything else, are some of the absolute worst crap on TV and makes me want to vom. But I love me some Rob and Big. I figure if I can't get on Ellen then I could maybe go live in Rob and Big's house. One of my favorite moments today was when Rob (yeah, we are one a first name basis) was saying he needed the "life version of icy hot" because he was "life sore." Word Rob, I'm life sore too sometimes and some life icy hot would be much appreciated. Also, they just got free ice cream and I think that would be a freakin awesome job, riding around, giving people free ice cream. Or just getting free ice cream...that would rock. I wonder how where the ice cream guy got enough money to just drive around giving out ice cream. Does he have to pay taxes?

OH JEEZ-How did I not say this already?!! I am officially MOVING OUT! It's later gator to North Marsh drive and helllloooo new street....I forgot the name already. I'll find that out again. I'm super pumped. Mainly because I don't have to live with Stormy anymore!!! YAY!!! No more of this: Entertaining yes, but annoying as hell. Mmk, ciao ciao!

25 February 2008

Help! I need [a job]

If you know anyone that needs a hard-worker, holla! Seriously, I just did a monthly budget for myself and with my current job, things are not looking so good. I mean, the pee farm isn't bad, but not to be an hourly worker would be awesome. Also, taking a second job in the form of waitressing at night/on the weekends does not sound appealing at all. Yeah, I know that's whiny, but uggggghhhh, I HATE waitressing! I guess if I found a cool place to do it, it might not be so bad..but I just don't wanna! I was all excited about moving out, but now I'm all worried. Moving on, I am still excited about coaching my soccer team!!!!!!!!! Yeah that's right, I am the head coach for the MIGHTY GRASSROOTS TEAM! I still don't know what Grassroots is, but they are our sponsor and I do know I have 9 badass 5 and 6 year olds that are going to rock. It is going to be fabulous, I can't wait! I'll keep you posted on a schedule, in case anyone would like to come out and support. I would like at least 10 people to sign up to paint their chests with Grassroots. 5 people might work, if you can fit two letters on there. I don't know, talk amongst yourselves and get back to me. Um, so this is the lamest post ever. I'm watching the Oscars as well and it's hard to be creative. Especially now that we're in the people that have died section with its horribly depressing music. Ooo, being an actress would be a great career. I want to wear pretty dresses and great paid lots of money for not doing much of anything. I need to be discovered. This is why I need to go on 'Ellen.' I would definitely wow some people on there and someone would surely see my potential and who knows what could happen!

In other news, I had my underwear on inside out last night. Oops.

22 February 2008

I love coloring too!!

OH MAN. So I found this picture on someone's facebook and died laughing. I think the facebook bumper stickers are usually pretty lame, but this one is by far the best one I've ever seen. So I thought I'd share. You're welcome.

I've been reading other people's blogs and I've noticed that lots of people write about really important, deep things...and I started feeling a little stupid. But then I thought some more about it and realized my life really isn't all that important (I mean, it is to me) or deep, so I decided that I'm going to keep things simple...and somewhat shallow. So yeah, I'll continue talking about unimportant things. For instance, right now I'm watching Ellen. OOO, side note: I LOVE Ellen. I want to be on her show so bad. Actually, I just want to be her. Only not gay. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, but I just like boys a lot. But I would love to have her life. I really want to be on a sitcom (Ellen) and also think it would be so awesome to have a talk show and make people laugh all day and be able to help people like she does. I wouldn't want to do stand up comedy though...that seems scary, so I could just skip right over that part. I'm always trying to think of ways to get on her show...suggestions would be awesome. So, anyways, here I am watching it and Christina Aguilera is on and her boobs are HUGE! It's actually kind of tacky. Disgusting really. Shame on you Christina. You're a mom now, show some class.

Hm, what other stupid things can I mention? Nothing really exciting happened today. It rained a lot and I got really pissed at people that didn't have their lights on. Oh, and I also realized that I have some really awesome friends and it makes me sad that a lot of them are spread out all over the world and not all together at PC. I miss me some PC friends...and camp friends and study abroad friends and high school friends.

Well this is getting ridiculous cause I'm tired. It's 8:45 and I am considering going to bed very soon. Oh man, what has my life become? Ellen, call me! I'll be waiting...I can come out to California anytime.

21 February 2008

I never did no drugs in my whole life....

...says the woman that came back with over 1000 milligrams of cocaine in her hair test. Hm...makes me a little skeptical, but what do I know? Man, sometimes I just love working at the pee farm. I get to meet some really interesting people. And by interesting, I mean crazy. But don't get me wrong, I seriously love it. I encounter people I would never otherwise meet and get to share in a special time in their lives...a drug test. It's touching really. Sometimes I make such an impact on people, they come back to tell me there is just no way they could be positive for drugs, they have never touched the stuff...they don't even take asprin! Beats me how it got in there then! I really want to believe these people, but sometimes I just don't know. Don't get me wrong, some people are normal that come in...but that is pretty rare. The crazies are more fun anyways.

Another great thing about working at the pee farm is I get to listen to music when no one is there! I started using Pandora.com, which lets you type in a song or artist and then it makes a "station" of what they think you would like, based on what you put it. It's pretty cool. It does come up with some crappy stuff every now and then, but usually it's all good music and I'm excited because I have since discovered some great new songs and artists. Matt Nathanson is a good one. I would put music clips on here, but I don't know how. Sorry folks. Also, I've gotten especially obsessed with Van Morrison lately (as in, the last couple of years) and think you should become obsessed too. "Days Like This" is probably my favorite song [inser technologically savvy music clip here] and then "Tupelo Honey." But pretty much everything is magnificent.

While I feed my addiction to Van, my stepdad is getting a hit of American Idol at the moment. Sorry to offend anyone, but I seriously can't stand that show. It just pains to be watch those people! I mean, it's better now that they got the really bad people off..but it still hurts me because a lot of them freak out and get nervous and sound bad...and they usually sing bad music. Or, they sing good music and make it sound bad. Now, not that I can sing or would ever be able to do such a thing, but I seriously can't handle AI. Reality TV in general (to me) is pretty much the stupidest thing ever. Back in my younger years, I really wanted to be on The Real World...for real, I thought I would be the PERFECT housemate (what high schooler doesn't really?)...I thought I could be the innocent one. You know, the one that doesn't really drink or cause drama or anything? I don't know that I would fit that role now, but after the Las Vegas season, I decided TRW (don't you love all my acronyms?) wasn't for me. However, MTV, if you're reading, I'd still totally do it. The Real World...anywhere that's not in the United States...I'm in! Feel free to leave a comment with your information.

Loo de do, I feel kind of weird rambling on about nothing, instead of my cool Roman adventures...but such is life. And, I'm still in love with myself and I'm not complaining, so whatev. Ciao ciao!

20 February 2008

Hold up, wait a minute

Whoa buddy, I'm back! So my last posting was May 9 2006...almost two years ago. I started the blog when I was in Italy and it kind of died when I got home. Mainly because I went straight to camp when I got home, where there was no internet and therefore no way to blog. And then when I got back into the real world, I figured there was no need to blog since I didn't have anything interesting to write about. I was back at PC for senior year and life was ridiculously lame compared the the previous five months. I mean, cool stuff happened I guess...sometimes. But it mainly consisted of reading and working on my seminar. First semester anyways. Ok, whatever, senior year is over, no need to go back. So anyways, here I am...all graduated and grown up, somewhat bored and inspired by the fabulous Sarah Seegers. She started a blog and her's is so amazing, I got jealous and wanted one of my very own...so I decided to just revive the one I had. It was a little bit of an ordeal though, since I forgot the password, not having signed into this in almost two years. So I finally figured out that the help email was in my spam (thanks for looking out for me gmail)...and then realized the email was in Italian! haha, when I was in Italy I thought I was so cool and cultured that I should put my blog in Italian so I guess blogger assumed I could actually speak Italian. Wrong. I know enough to have an introduction conversation, but emails are a little over my head. Either way, somehow I got in and here I am. I want to make it pretty and cool, but don't have the energy for all that right now...another time.

Anyways, long story short, I decided that life at the pee farm might be interesting enough to start blogging again. And if it's not, I'll just ramble on about other things I feel should be addressed. Also, I am in love with my writing and feel like the rest of the world should be able to enjoy it as well. Actually, I'm kind of just in love with myself and felt I needed to share.

And for some parting thoughts, I just bought the new Jack Johnson CD on iTunes and recommend you do the same. Ciao ciao! (for old time's sake).

Fourteen

You have no idea how much it hurts me to have to write that in english.

So, I'm home. It's weird. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be though, honestly. I mean, yeah, Italy is 1000 times better, but so far, I'm alright. And truthfully, I think my trip from hell home has a lot to do with me being able to adjust better. Not only did I pretty much cry myself out (seriously, I couldn't cry now if I wanted to) but after that mess, home wasn't so bad.

But first, lets adress the last moments of Roman glory. I discovered that standing on the porch and watching Italians going in and out of the gym below our building was one of my favorite things to do...so I did a lot of that the last couple of days. They are so funny! They drive up on their scooters (which are the best modes of transportation and I will be purchasing one as soon as I have some money), all decked out in their fabulous euro fashion. They lock up the scooter, go inside and spin (aka bike) for hours. I usually didn't see the same people come out, but they would come out fully dressed, only walking a little slower and chugging water. But then, they would stop chugging long enough to smoke a cigarette, make out, send a text message or do all three at the same time. It was so fabulous to watch. I got caught a couple of times, but I would just smile and wave. Oh, and then they would put back on their winter coat, even though it was about 80 degrees outside, possibly put on a scarf and then ride off on their scooters again.

Wednesday, Alison and I had our last visit to the soup kitchen. Nothing too exciting happened, other than our photo shoot with our favorite people. I am so so glad I was able to volunteer there. I felt like I got to see a real side of Rome, along with being able to meet some really cool people. All the other volunteers were so nice and I got to make real Italian friends. I mean, I met other random people along with way, but I can honestly say they were my friends. And, I'm not afraid of homeless people anymore. Good times at Ostello.

I also did a lot of last minute shopping and wandering the last couple of days. I bought most of my souvenirs that I needed to, and one bad ass pair of tennis shoes. I ate a lot of fabulous food (which would be any Italian food) and said ciao to the metro (which I was not sad about). Thursday night #51 had their last supper at the same restraunt where we had our first meal together in Rome. This time, I was showered, not feeling sick and actually knew what the menu said. It was a nice, looong meal and was fabulous, even though I got the wrong dessert. After dinner, my roommate and I headed over to a friends apartment to help celebrate her 21st. After much debate on where to go out, it was decided that it was too late to actually go anywhere, so four of us decided to get a late night snack and head to St. Peters. You can't actually go in the square at night, but we just sat in the street and enjoyed the view. UNTIL....my roommate swears she sees a sniper between the statue of Jesus and St. Peter (maybe, I don't know who the statues were actually of) and another friend decides to go ask the Polizia on duty what the black thing actually was. They didn't know, so they decided to shine their lights on and called for back up (meaning, the other polizia sitting on the other side of the square). No one knew what it was, so we just forgot about it and talked to the polizia about random nonsense. We tried to convince them we were nuns, but we couldn't fool them. However, one of them (the younger of the three) is like, you want to come in? Take photo at night? Yes, come in. SO-we got to go in ST. PETERS SQUARE at 2 in the morning...and have a photo shoot. It was amazing. It was seriously one of the coolest things I have done in Rome and definately an appropriate way to end the coolest semester of my life. And the polizia were soo nice. They offered to take our pictures all over the square and were concerned if they turend out blurry or anything. And they weren't skeezy at all! They didn't try to hit on us or anything sketch..I think they were just really bored. But it was fine with us, it was so soo cool.

Friday was the very last day, so I did some more wandering and had dinner at a friends apartment. At about one that night, a big group of us went for our last Old Bridge gelato. I went for the big due conna which meant I got A LOT of really amazing gelato/heaven on a cone. If I'm going to miss anything about Italy, I am going to miss Old Bridge. People that have tasted it know what I'm talking about. People that haven't tasted it, haven't lived. Anyways, since we had to leave for the airport at 4:30, we all just stayed up, packed and cleaned. The taxi came a good 25 minutes early, so we arrived at the airport around 5, before the desk was actually open. And then the saga of hell started. Since I don't really want to relive anything, I'll give you the abbreviated version, outlining how something went wrong every step of the way:
1. I had to switch flights, from the 11:55 to the 8:15 because I wouldn't get into JFK in time to catch my 7:00 flight home. All the arrangments had already been made, and I was told I only needed my confirmation number to be reissued a ticket. Turns out, I needed my old paper ticket, which I didn't have, so I couldn't get on the 8:15. Marco, the extremely nice man at the British Airways ticket counter in Rome worked some magic and pulled some strings to get me on the 11:55 flight, no thanks to the bitch at Gulliver Travel in the states, who yelled at me for losing my ticket and for bothering her so late at night.
2. I had about a 30 minute layover in London, so I didn't get to eat, or spend the last of my pounds and euros. And it was mainly coins, so I couldn't change it into US money.
3. I miss my flight in JFK because of a series of unfortunate circumstances involving a delayed take off and a snapped tow line. The customs man in New York said I would be fine and could easily make my 7:00 flight, even though it was 6:30 and I hadn't even gotten my luggage back. He lied. I missed it and got put on the next available flight, which was 6:15 the next morning.
4. I go to a hotel to check in. My card is denied because of insufficient funds. WHAT??? The day I left Rome, my online bank statement said I had $400. Turns out, purchases I had made 3 weeks prior were just now going through. So, I had been spending, thinking I had $400, when really I had $60. Through the miracle of fax, the room gets paid for and I get to sleep for 4 hours. Back to the airport at 4 am.
5. I somehow end up in baggage claim instead of gate 12, and have to through secruity twice, but I get on the first flight without major problems.
6. My connecting flight to Columia out of Washington/Dulles is delayed 2 1/2 hours. From a missing first captain, to maintence problems, I think I have covered just about every possible airport crisis.

Finally, I get to Columbia, where a lovely thunderstorm is there to welcome me home. But whatever, I got to eat, shower, and sleep so I was happy. And since you can add a good hour or so of intense crying to each of those steps, I was pretty much out of tears by this point. So I was actually happy to be home, instead of being miserable like I thought I was going to be. Don't get my wrong, I still really really miss Roma, but even Columbia is better than 40 hours of travel.

Anyways, I don't even know how to begin to conclude the best 4 months of my life, so I'm not even going to try. I will be returning someday. And a little piece of Italy comes in the form of Davide in August, so I'll be able to keep my amazing Italian skills fresh, haha. Sooo....ciao ciao :)

Tredici

You are on your own now...you can do it. Refer back to #3 and #10, and put the two together if you are having trouble.

So, wow, I leave Italy in 4 days. I can't believe it. However, it makes me very depressed to think about/discuss, so we are going to move right along.

A lot has happened since the great French adventure, but I have been super busy with this and that, so its been awhile since I updated. And right now, I currently need to clean the apartment, pack, and study, so I am going to just give a brief(ish) overview.

Katrina came to visit me in Rome the weekend after I was in France. We had soo much fun! We did all the touristy stuff...walked around, saw the Colosseum, Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, all the Roman highlights. Being a tourist is tiring! But it was still a lot of fun and I was really really glad she got to come visit.

I took my Italian final last week, and it was ridiculously easy. Almost embarassingly easy. But oh well, its over and done and hopefully I did fine. I don't think my other exams are going to be that easy..but we'll see.

So..the highlight of the past couple of weeks...I got to visit Davide! No, Davide is not my Italian lover, he is the kid that is going to live with my family for the next school year. He is like Sven, only Italian! His family lives in Rovigo, which is 3 hours north (by train) of Rome. He had gotten in touch with Ray, who gave him my email and phone number, and one night he called me. I was pretty pumped about the phone call alone, but then he invited me to come and stay with his family for the night...which of course I agreed to. So I took the train up to Rovigo last Saturday afternoon and spent the night. It was soooo cool and so much fun. I am so so glad I got to do that, it was definately one of the coolest things I have gotten to do this entire Italian experience. His family was so so nice to me, even though we had some serious communication issues. Davide could speak english pretty well, about how I can speak Italian, so we did alright. But his family didn't really speak english at all...so it was a struggle. But they spoke to me really slowly and we always had a dictionary handy, so it worked out fine. And Davide is really cool and nice and I am really excited about him coming in August. He is 17, sings in a band, is a soccer ref, loves Jim Carrey, and likes to break dance. He is also really goofy, so I'm sure he and JC are going to get along very well. We had a big dinner when I got there...it was so Italian, I loved it. We ate at like, 9:30 and had the 3 courses, wine with dinner, cheese afterwards, everything. It was fabulous. I met the whole family, grandma, cousins, sister, nieces, in-laws, uncles, everyone. And everyone would say the one or two phrases they knew in english, which was usually "I don't speak english well," or ask if I had been to New York. And his sister has the cutest little girl and she gave me a little euro-kiss goodnight, it was so cute! Anyways, we went out on the town, walked around, and I met a bunch of his friends, more cousins, and his girlfriend. Then we came home and he let me drive his scooter. But, I ran it into the wall because I forgot that you had to let go of the gas and press the brake at the same time. I was going really slow, so it didn't cause any damage, but he drove after that. So I got a midnight scooter ride, which was awesome. Sunday, his dad, brother, cousin, and I watched Davide ref a soccer game. He was very professional and apparently the president of the ref association thinks he has a promising future in ref-ing, I was so proud. His dad was sooo funny. He would just talk and talk in Italian and I would only understand like, every other sentence, but he just kept talking. He gave me a driving tour of the town. I saw the famous church, Davide's school, the university, the river, the old towers, everything. I definately was making the most out of my Italian dictionary, haha. We had another huge, delicious lunch, and then we watched some Jim Carrey skits and played video games. It was, of course, a soccer game, and I was pretty terrible. I kept dribbling the ball out of bounds and trying to shoot on my own goal. But I didn't lose! His cousin, who I was playing with, took about 50 shots to my 3, but he didn't score! And, then, one of the highlights of my life, I got to DRIVE the scooter! I was much better this time, I promise. I remembered how to break properly and I didn't run into anything or anyone. We drove all through town, on real streets and everything. It was FREEZING, but awesome. They invited me to stay another night, but sadly, I had to get back to Rome to study and I didn't have any more clothes. So, Davide and his parents came to the train station to see me off...it was so nice! They were standing on the platform waving and blowing kisses. I was really sad to say goodbye, but I'll get to see Davide in August, so it'll be good. ooh, it was such good times, this blog does not even do it justice.

Anyways, in other news...yesterday was Italian labor day, so everyone had off work and school. And there was this HUGE music festival at San Giovanni (a very large church) and we went and it was craaazzzzzy. There were sooo many people. It was a lot of fun though. And I thought it was pretty funny because they have this huge stage, with everyone rocking out and then the huge crowd, with people crowd-surfing, drinking, dancing and who knows what else, and its all in front of this huge church with all these huge statues of saints and popes watching. We couldn't get very far into the crowd, so we danced on the outskirts, it was fun. Then we finally made it to Trastevere for some food and we were all dead tired, so we came home and watched Wedding Crashers.

Ok, well it is definatley time to study now. More to come as my trip wraps up [tear]. Ciao ciao!

Douze

Again, to go with the theme of the weekend, this number is not Italian (it would be dodici), but French. So I don't know how to pronounce it. All I learned how to say in French was "my name is jacky," "thank you," "please," and "I don't speak French."

Anyways, this past weekend was SO MUCH FUN. It was so great to see my friends and France is a really cool country and overall it was just fabulous beyond words.

My friend Molly that is studying in Florence came to Rome on Wednesday night and Thursday morning we flew to Paris. On the way to the airport, there was another suitcase miracle known as the metro miracle. My silly little suitcase handle is broken and will usually not go down, causing problems while traveling, espcially when I get on a plane because it has to go on a seperate luggage thing. Anyways, somehow it magically went down on the way to the airport and it was miraculous. THe same thing happened in Greece at the airport and that was the Greek miracle. Once I got off the plane, it got stuck again and I looked like a retard trying to load it on the bus. Anyways, our plane was delayed and then we have to ride a bus into actual Paris, so we don't get there until 5 or so. But my amazing suitemate and dad, Katrina, was there waiting for us and it was really funny because we hugged and got stuck on each other's jewelry. That night we had a weird French sandwich (it was good though) and went to see the Eiffel Tower. It was SOO cool at night! I really wasn't expecting it to be so amazing, but it was just so cool to sit and stare at. AND, as an added bonus, it sparkles every hour for like, 10 minutes! It was so nice to sit and stare at the Eiffel Tower with some of my best friends. Then we ate a chocolate crepe, which has been one of my best European purchases...so delicous.

The next day we made lunch for ourselves and then wandered around Paris. We admired Notre Dame, which was crazy crowded because it was Good Friday and listened to a jazz band play "Georgia On My Mind" on the street. We also went to the Arc de Triumph, which is HUGE and then to the Lourve, which is HUGE times 1000. I still can't believe how ridiculously huge that place was! Molly and I got chewed up and spit out. It is free for students on Friday nights, so we just wandered around for an hour or so. Somehow we got stuck in the Italian art section and it took a long time to escape. We wanted to see the Mona Lisa, because that is what you are supposed to do when you go to the Lourve, but then the Italian painting section trapped us inside. It's all nice and everything, but we wanted to see something different since we had both seen our fair share of Italian art. Anyways, we finally escape somehow and meet Katrina back at the metro. By the way, the Paris metro system is INSANE. Rome has 2 lines, Paris has 14. 14! But it was nice because we could pretty much go anywhere on it. That night we had a quick McDonalds dinner (I had a Chicken Mystic, wouldn't recommend it) and then went to a club that was a boat on the Siene (sin) River, so that was pretty cool. Next day we eat a more traditional French lunch and then hop on the train for 5 hours to Cannes to see Carter. Carter's parents were leaving that night but we had dinner with them and they bought us an amazing crepe dinner. Crepes are fabulous, let me just say for the record. We were all really tired, so we went to bed in our creepy little room we rented on Carter's campus.

Easter Sunday (Buona Pacqua!) we laid on the beach pretty much all day (don't worry, we said a little prayer and thanked God for the beautiful weather) and enjoyed a fabulous fondue dinner. And we went to this bar that had a band playing and they made fun of me on the mic, for everyone to hear, when I requested Belinda Carlisle. I was not big fans of them. Cannes was a lot of fun and really pretty. And we got to see where they have the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival. It is also where Carter will be strutting her stuff with Jake Gyllenhal, haha.

So then Monday we are back on the train, this time for like 9 hours. It was a little too much train time, but we met some nice people, so we survived. We finally got to Florence, where Molly's roommate in Florence and our friend (my mom) from school, Blakely was there waiting with a really fabulous dinner on the table. We walked around and got gelato afterwards. It was kind of strange to be back in Florence. That was where I spent the first 3 weeks of the trip and it was weird to be back, 1. because it wasn't FREEZING and 2. because I am just so used to Rome and its craziness now...Florence is a different kind of crazy. But it was nice too. And it was so unbelievably wonderful to be with my friends. Unfortuantely, I had to go back to Rome the next day and go to class...but it was nice to be back in Rome Sweet Rome as well. AND-I had a TrenItalia miracle! I was worried about struggling with my suitcase by myself on the train, but somehow the handle went down again. Of course, it wouldn't when I got on the metro, but I take what I can get. Anyways, my Roman roomies were here waiting, as were the two research papers I have yet to write. So I'm going to get on that so I can have fun with Katrina when she comes here tomorrow. Ciao ciao!

Undici

I dont even know how to spell out the first part...oooona. I can't think of an English equivalent right now. And then dieci, which was explained in the last blog.

Ok, well nothing too exciting lately. Just wanted to drop in, say hello before my long, amazing weekend in which I will not be posting blogs because I will be off having an amazing time with no time for silly things like blogs. More on that later.

Last Friday I went to Assisi for the day, with Dr. Hotness as my guide. Amazing, of course. And thats right, Assisi as in St. Francis of ASSISI. I saw his tomb and everything. Other than having cool earpiece things so we could hear Dr. Hotness and his infinite knowledge of everything, Assisi was a tad boring. It was really really beautiful and the weather was amazing for us, but it is a really small town with a lot of pretty churches. So we toured those, had some lunch and admired the view. I had forgotten that in Northern Italy the bread is terrible because they don't add salt to it, so that was a disappointment at lunch. Of course Alessandro explained to us why they don't use salt because he is so incredibly wise that he would know such things. And now I'll share it with you: when the Vatican took over the Tuscany area for a brief period of time 150 years ago (more or less), they put a ridiculously high tax on salt, so people just stopped using it to make bread. And, even though the tax has since been lifted, they decided to leave the bread salt-less. Which is really quite a shame, because it is so much better with salt. Crazy Tuscans. Anyways, the bus ride there and back was pretty, but uneventful, as was the rest of the weekend. It was really hot Saturday, so I walked around for a little bit but then tried to work on one of my research papers. I chose the most generic topic ever, Baroque Architecture, so I was going crazy with all the information. Its far from being done, but I started. That night I went to the sketchiest club EVER, but it was really funny, so I had a good time. There were the most random people..from like, 15 year olds to way older people. It was very strange.

Sunday, worked on the papers some more and then walked around and finally did some shopping. I actually have some money now thanks to my amazing family, so I treated myself. Everything was on sale, of course, but it was still exciting to actually make some Roman purchases, other than the neccessities. I got some really strange looks though because I had on flip flops. It was so hot though! Of course the crazy Italians are still in winter coats, but I just can't do it. I also went to mass for Palm Sunday that night. We got there at 6:30, when it said mass started but that actually meant they were going to do the entire rosary at 6:30. So, we sat through that and then actual mass. It was so different from mass at home, it was actually pretty entertaining. Other than having to stand up for 30 minutes while they read the Passion, there were funny old women and little kids to watch. And people were just wandering around the whole mass, going to confession, coming and going, whatever..anything went. And of course the church was beautiful, so I had something to look at instead of trying to translate what the homily was about. That night we went to a cute little restraunt near the church and had the craziest old man as our waiter. He kept playing little jokes on us and would just crack up at himself! It was hysterical...he wasn't even that funny, but he thought he was and had this insane laugh, so it was really entertaining. For example, I asked where the bathroom was and was like, sorry we don't have one and starts to walk off. Then turns around and just busts out laughing and pointing at me like he just played this huge prank on me. It was great..then he gave me a high five.

Anyways, this weekend is going to be amazing because I am going to FRANCE!!! I am so so excited! My friend Molly (who is studying in Florence) is coming here and we are flying to Paris to see my friend Katrina, then the 3 of us are going to Cannes to see another friend, Carter. After that, the same 3 are leaving Carter and going to drop off Molly and see our friend Blakely. Then I will be returning to Rome and Katrina is coming to visit here a few days later. I am sooo excited to see them and to see France! I'm a little nervous because I heard French people aren't very nice, so we'll see. More to come on that post-amazing French/Italian adventure. Now its time to work on my papers some more. They are due a lot sooner than I realized...haha.

Ciao ciao!

ΔEKA

This one is a toughie..."Theka" I don't really even know how to prounce it because I don't know any Greek. Italian is "diece" (de ay che) but since this blog is all about my "Big Fat Greek Spring Break," I thought throwing a Greek number up there would be more approriate.

Ok, so Greece. Amazing. Only, amazing times infinity. I can't even begin to describe. It was quite possibly, the best week of my life. Everything about Greece was fabulous. The food, the weather, the beaches, the people, the view, everything.

[sunset in Naxos}

For starters, we flew into Athens and rode their immaculate metro system (it puts the Roman metro to SHAME) into the heart of the city, arrived around 3, went to our hostel and then exploring. It was to late to actually go to the Acropolis, but we did get to see it from a distance, and also the Parthenon. Both were really cool to see and I hope to go back someday and see them for real. It started hailing on us, and a nice restraunt owner offered us shelter and free water (this is a huge deal, water is NEVER free in Europe) under his umbrellas. We ended up staying and eating there, and I discovered that real Greek salads do not actually have any lettuce in them. Its cucumber, tomato, onion, bell pepper, olive, and feta. And since I don't really like cucumbers, tomatos, bell peppers, or Greek olives (they are crazy salty), I just ate the feta and onion. Still, it was delicious. Then we got free dessert, which was the first thing we got free in Greece. After that, we got something free every day, sometimes multiple somethings. The man also taught us how to say thank you, and it wont let me type in Greek on this thing, so just know that it is a lot longer and more complicated than saying "Grazie." We realized that the language barrier might be more of a problem there than in Italy. However, lucky for us, almost everyone we met could speak English. And, everyone we met was soo nice. They would ask where we from, why we were in Greece, where else we had been and whether or not we liked it so far. Italians are nice, but these people were unbelievable. So accomadating and helpful, it was wonderful.

Anyways, the next day we got on the ferry (which was ENORMOUS) for four hours and spent the next 3 nights in Mykonos, which, of course, was amazing. Someone met us at the port, and drove us to the hotel, which was at the top of a hill overlooking the ocean and looked just like the buildings you see in pictures..the white square buildings with blue shutters. So so pretty. And they had a glass of wine waiting for all of us, which was really cool. Since there is still a week or two before tourist season really starts, there was hardly anyone else on the island, tourist wise. I really liked that, even though there were not many stores and restraunts open, it was nice to be away from the crazy crowdness of Rome. And we always managed to find somewhere to eat some delicious Greek food, so I was happy. There, we mainly hung out around the town, wandered around and watched the gorgeous sunsets. One day we did go down to the Paradise City. Haha, one of the beaches there is called Paradise. It was nice because no one else was there, except for people cleaning up the shops and stuff, getting ready for tourist season. The last night in Mykonos, we went to a local restraunt, where we were the only girls and the only people under 50. We met this guy who had a horse and offers horseback rides and scuba diving lessons during tourist season. He had dinner with us and got all his friends at the restraunt to teach us how to "oompa" dance aka traditional Greek dancing. It was sooo funny. We pushed all the tables against the walls and blasted Greek music and danced with these old men for like, 3 hours. And the owners gave us all at least 6 free shots. The alcohol was pretty gross, Ouzo and Ursus. Ouzo tastes like good and plenty and Ursus tastes like Dimeatapp. It was fabulous.

Next, we went to Naxos, where there was more stuff open, but still not a lot of people. More good food, wandering around, beach laying, and sunset watching went on. Some random man bought us free wine one night and the next, we got free shots again at a Tex Mex restraunt we accidently went to. I say accidently because of course, we wanted to eat Greek food and not Tex Mex while in Greece, but we didn't realize what it was until we got the menus. But the food turned out to be really really good, so all was not lost. They had a like, a resident salsa dancer there from Brazil, and he wanted us to dance with him. I got up and looked like an idiot for a little while, and then he got all 6 of us to do the rumba with him. It was really really funny. Esp since we were the only people dancing in this bar and our audience was pretty much all middle aged men and women, who were either laughing at us or ignoring us. Our hotel there was really nice (and had the comfiest beds) and was up on a hill as well, and you could see straight across to the Arch of Apollo, which was gorgeous. The family that owned the restraunt was so nice and was always willing to help us figure out where we were going and offer suggestions on what to do. In fact, I left a necklace and my watch there, and the owner met me at the port on our way back to Athens to give it back to me! And he said, "ok my lady," which I thought was soo funny. Anyways, we went to the beach there as well, and one of the days it was soo pretty and we could actually get in the water. However, the next day was really cold and windy and we were informed by our taxi driver that there was an eclipse while we were there. So, we didn't get a whole lot of sun that day.

Next, Santorini. Gorgeous, of course. The weather was perfect and we stayed in a really really nice hotel. It was in the capital, Fira and was like a 5 minute walk into town. It was a little strange though because apparently all Greek high schoolers take a 5 day vacation at the end of March, so there were about 1000 of them staying at our hotel as well. Other than the stares and boys winking us, it was fine. Our room had a loft and you could walk out on the roof...so we would walk out and wave to all the teenagers down below. The first night we had an amazing dinner and when we went out that night, there were actually other people besides just the six of us at the bars and clubs. Not very many, but still, it was exciting to actually see other people out and about. The next day we rented a car instead of trying to take taxis to the beach and that turned out to be the smartest thing we had done. We got 2 since all 6 of us couldn't fit in one and I was captain of car 2 (I was the only one who had brought their license). I got to DRIVE around Santorini and visit black and red sand beaches. It was so amazing. I was an excellent driver and did not get us lost, or in any accidents. Not that there was a lot of traffic, but whatever. And, the one of the best parts of the whole trip was driving around, listening to the radio and having "Heaven is a Place on Earth" (my favorite song EVER) come on!!! Greek radio is crazy, but I never would have thought I would hear the best song in the world on it! Anyways, that night we drove to Oia, which is in the north and has the best place to watch the sunset. It was really really pretty, but all the highschoolers decided to come as well, so we didn't really get to watch in peace since they were all crazy loud. But it was funny to see all the girls giving us evil looks and the boys checking us out. Also, it was interesting to see the differences between Greek and Italian teenagers. The Greeks seem less into fashion, but they are both all about smoking, PDA, big sunglasses, and being as loud as possible. It was just funny to watch. Anyways, our ferry ride back to Athens was 8 hours, but it was ok because it was gorgeous weather and we got to watch the sunset on the boat.

There is so much more I could write about, but this is already long enough. It was such an amazing experience. Everything about the week was fabulous and I really really hope I can go back one day. And the best part of it all, I got to come home to ROME, where the weather is finally starting to get nice and is after all, ROME. So I can't complain. Assissi on Friday and France next weekend! Ciao ciao!
